3 best trade packages Brooklyn Nets can get for Kyrie Irving

2. Salary match and a pick from the Heat

Before the season started, the Heat might have to put Tyler Herro on the table for this deal but there’s almost no chance of that happening now since Miami would have all the leverage. They could offer Kyle Lowry, Dewayne Dedmon and a 2027 first-rounder and at least be in the conversation. It’s not clear how Irving would fit with Miami’s culture and the personalities already entrenched on this team and throughout the organization but basically turning Lowry into Irving would be a huge upgrade for their present.

For the Nets, Lowry and Dedmon are dead weight but a 2027 first-round pick is far enough out that it might be worth something as the Heat regress with the inevitable age-related decline of Jimmy Butler and Irving. If the Nets wanted to get creative they could also offer to take Duncan Robinson’s contract instead of Dedmon, taking on some money but hopefully staying more competitive in the short term and selling Durant on staying.
