LeBron James is currently only 63 points away from breaking the all-time scoring record. How many games will he need to pass Kareem?

LeBron James is currently at 38,325 points all-time. He is only 63 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time record of 38,327 points. The Lakers have a three-game home stand against the Pelicans, Thunder, and Bucks before going on a west coast road trip against the Warriors, and Trail Blazers.

Currently, this season LeBron James is averaging 30 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the floor. He is shooting 31 percent from 3, and 59 percent from inside the 3-point line. LeBron’s record-breaking bucket will probably be a three-pointer or a dunk.

James has a flair for making a highlight his record-breaking moments in the regular season. Technically it is deviating from the winning basketball philosophy (not trying to make the right play), but at some point, you just gotta give a man a break for breaking the all-time record.

When will LeBron James break the scoring record?

There is a good chance that LeBron is able to break the record before the Lakers head on their next road trip. All of the games on this quick little home stretch are nationally televised games. The game against the Pelicans is on ESPN, while their two other home games are on TNT.

He will probably not get the record against the Zion-less Pelicans. Never doubt the king from Ohio, but LeBron’s career-high is 61 points so it is unlikely that he is able to get it against the Pelicans.

There is a chance that he will be able to get it against Thunder. LeBron has had plenty of 30-point performances and it could get another against a young and fun Thunder team (after getting 34+ points against the Pelicans obviously). The most likely outcome is for him to get the record against the Bucks on Thursday.

LeBron James will probably break the record against the Bucks or the Thunder with a better shot coming against the Bucks. Whether it comes against OKC or Milwaukee, the King has a great shot at breaking the scoring record at home. No matter where James breaks the record, it will still be impressive (this word is underselling it) and will be a big moment in NBA history.
