The Dallas Mavericks pulled off a major trade on Sunday, acquiring All-Star guard Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie and draft picks.

The move certainly should give Luka Doncic some more help in Dallas, and Irving is expected to make his Mavs debut on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

With Irving out tonight, the Mavericks are in a bit of trouble against the Utah Jazz in Utah. Dallas is down Doncic with a heel injury as well and Christian Wood is listed as questionable.

The Mavericks have struggled on the road this season, going just 9-17 straight up, and they are major underdogs without Luka in this game.

Can Utah grab a win and potentially jump from the No. 10 spot in the West?

Here’s a look at the odds and my best bet for this game:

I’ll lay the points with Utah here, as Dallas doesn’t have a true lead ball-handler in this game now that Dinwiddie is in Brooklyn.

The Mavericks are 0-7 when Doncic sits this season, losing three of those games by double digits. They also suffered an eight point loss to the Jazz without Luka earlier this season.

Utah has a solid home court advantage, going 18-10 straight up at home this season, and it is still looking to showcase some of its pieces in the trade market ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

Utah has only gone 8-11 ATS as a home favorite, but the Mavs are 5-8 as road dogs and are a significantly worse team without Doncic. This could get ugly in Utah.
