The UFC heads to Perth, Australia, on Saturday for a fight card that fans think is flying massively under the radar. The main event features a potential two-division champion if someone plays their cards right. Reigning UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will look to defend his title for the first time against reigning featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, who is coming up in weight in hopes of becoming the UFC’s next champ-champ.
The co-main event features an interim featherweight title scrap between No. 2 ranked Yair Rodríguez and No. 5 ranked Josh Emmett.
The card had originally been booked to be Australian-heavy but several fights fell through leaving the card a bit lackluster. Fans questioned the UFC’s lack of promotion and put UFC president Dana White on blast for forgetting Makhachev’s name during a late-night press conference, but the card will continue whether people are watching or not.
