Chiefs WR should be banned from Philly for this unforgivable cheesesteak take

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster gave his cheesesteak take, and he probably won’t receive a warm welcome in Philadelphia in the future.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are less than a week away from their big meeting in Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Ariz.

Ahead of the big game, where the winner would receive the grand prize that was the coveted Lombardi Trophy, both teams participated in Media Day on Monday. Both sides were cordial to one another, but one member of the Chiefs may have said something that will anger the city of Philadelphia.

Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was asked to give his opinion on Philly Cheesesteaks. That seems customary to ask, especially when facing off against the Eagles on the grandest stage of the NFL season. Smith-Schuster than gave his take that Philadelphia doesn’t have the best cheesesteak.

“Honestly, the best Philly Cheesesteaks are not in Philly, to be honest,” said Smith-Schuster.

Oh, that’s not going to fly well in Philly.

Smith-Schuster joined the Chiefs this past offseason, signing a one-year, $3.76 million contract this past offseason. He had spent the previous five years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of USC. Entering the 2022 season, the Chiefs were without star Tyreek Hill, as he was traded to the Miami Dolphins. Even though Hill thrived in Miami, the Chiefs receivers thrived as well, most notably Smith-Schuster.

In 16 regular season games played, Smith-Schuster caught 78-of-101 targets for 933 yards and three touchdowns. His receiving yards, receptions, and targets total were the most among all wide receivers on the team.

Smith-Schuster never made it past the Divisional Round in his five years with the Steelers. Now, in his first year in Kansas City, he has the chance to win his first-ever Super Bowl title. But, it’s the Eagles who stand in his way of that goal becoming a reality.
