World Baseball Classic Rosters: Full list of teams and players [UPDATED]
By Mark Powell
Lastly is Pool D, with the Dominican Republic, Israel, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Venezuela all participating.
Dominican Republic World Baseball Classic roster
The Dominican Republic is one of the great baseball nations of our time, and their roster reflects just that. A lineup full of big boppers like Juan Soto, Rafael Devers, Jose Ramirez, Julio Rodriguez, Vlad Jr. and more — should they all play — is enough to scare any opposing pitching staff. It’s an essential All-Star team, and they can out-hit just about any team they go up against. If Cristian Javier and Co. choose to participate and can pitch even a moderate tournament, there’s no telling how far this team can go.
Israel World Baseball Classic roster
The Israeli WBC team is headlined by Joc Pederson, Garrett Stubbs, Kevin Pillar and Jake Fishman. While not up to par with the likes of the DR, United States or Japan, Israel has plenty of major-league talent and could pull off an upset or two in this pool. Israel is managed by former Texas Rangers great Ian Kinsler, who played over a decade in MLB with Texas, Detroit Boston and others.
Nicaragua World Baseball Classic roster
Erasmo Ramirez and Jonathan Loáisiga are the more well-known members of this Nicaraguan side, and they will have to win with pitching in this group. All three of the Dominican Republic, Israel and Venezuela are full of talent on the offensive side of the ball, with lineups that could break down just about any pitching staff. We wish them luck.
Puerto Rico World Baseball Classic roster
Talk about some absolute swag for the Puerto Rico team. Headlined by a pair of Mets and a former Met, Puerto Rico will have Francisco Lindor, Edwin Diaz and Javier Baez headlining their roster. There are plenty of other familiar names in the mix, though, as this team should be a contender to make some noise at the WBC.
Venezuela World Baseball Classic roster
The Venezuelan roster got perhaps their most exciting news a few nights ago, when Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña was cleared to play in the tournament. Previously, Acuña and the Braves assumed he would sit out due to injury, but the All-Star was cleared at the last minute. Along with Acuña, Miguel Cabrera, Jose Altuve and Luis Garcia were all eligible to play, though it’s unknown if any will join their fellow MLB talent in the WBC.
