Fresno State vs. Nevada prediction and odds for Friday, February 10 (Bet Bulldogs as underdogs)
By Reed Wallach
We have some late night Mountain West action on Friday night with Fresno State traveling to Reno to face Nevada.
Fresno State has had a tough go this season, 9-14 on the year, but have won two straight in the last week. Now, they are on the road to face Nevada, who is 19-6 on the year and making an at-large push for the NCAA Tournament. The Wolf Pack are fresh off an upset win at New Mexico, their third in a row.
Can Nevada avoid a letdown on Friday night? Let’s check out the odds:

Fresno State vs. Nevada prediction and pick
Fresno State is a tricky underdog to face due to how slow they play. The team plays at the 31st slowest tempo in the country. By limiting the possessions each team has which makes it harder for them to get blown out. While that hasn’t panned out every time in Mountain West play, the team is 4-3 against the spread as an underdog, they have been able to cash for bettors at a decent clip.
I like this spot for the Bulldogs against Nevada’s also slow paced roster. The Wolf Pack are more diverse on offense, but the fact that Fresno State’s compact defense can make life difficult for big man Will Baker. Fresno State has the best two-point defense in conference play and Nevada is reliant on their interior offense, posting the second lowest three-point rate in league games.
If Fresno State is able to slow down Nevada’s offense, and the possessions are limited, I’ll look towards the underdog at a big number. Helping my cause is that Nevada is coming off a last minute victory against New Mexico on the road and has Utah State on the road next week as well (albeit with a full week to prepare). This could be a bit of a let down spot for the Pack, so I’ll take the points.
