Best NBA prop bets today for Pistons vs. Raptors (Ride with Pascal Siakam)
By Peter Dewey
The Toronto Raptors have a must-win matchup on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons, but with a double-digit spread, it may be more advantageous to bet on some player props in this game.
The Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA, so who does that change how we approach the Raptors and their scoring props?
I have a pick for a player on each team in this Sunday matinee:
Pistons vs. Raptors best NBA prop bets
- Pascal Siakam OVER 24.5 Points
- Killian Hayes UNDER 9.5 Rebounds and Assists
Pascal Siakam OVER 24.5 Points
Pascal Siakam was named a replacement for the All-Star Game, a much deserved honor considering that he’s averaging 25.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game this season.
The Raptors star is coming off a huge game against the Utah Jazz where he dropped 35 points, and he dropped 37 against the San Antonio Spurs in his game before that.
What do those teams have in common with Detroit? Bad defenses.
The Pistons ranks 29th in the NBA in defensive rating this season, and they should have trouble defending Siakam, who has been hovering around 24-25 points per game all season.
Even though this number has increased from 23.5 to 24.5 since his last game, I like Siakam to have a big offensive showing for Toronto on Sunday.
Killian Hayes UNDER 9.5 Rebounds and Assists
Killian Hayes is trying to prove that he can be a long-term piece for the Detroit Pistons, but the former lottery pick has struggled with his efficiency this season, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field.
Despite the lack of scoring, Hayes has played a pretty consistent role with Cade Cunningham done for the season.
However, I’m fading his assists and rebounds prop today against a solid Toronto defense.
Hayes has cleared 9.5 rebounds and assists in just three of his last nine games.
On the season, the Pistons guard is averaging just 2.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, one fewer than where his prop is set today.
Hayes either needs a big assist game or an anomaly rebounding game to clear this number, and I don’t see either happening on Sunday given his recent play.
