What are clam bites? Maya Rudolph M&M addition explained.
During the Super Bowl commercials an M&M commercial advertising “candy-coated clam bites” and it left everyone thoroughly confused about what the heck that even means. And let’s be honest, we might not have the answer for you … yet.
We assume the product is a joke, but there actually is something called clam bites (here’s a recipe to prove it) but we don’t think that’s what they are referring to.
We actually think it’s an answer to how completely upset people got when the M&M characters were redesigned to be more inclusive. And then they released packaging to support women and only featured women characters. Of course, people (mostly men) lost their minds and forced M&M to put out a statement.
And now the commercial seems to poke fun at that, in a very clever (and confusing way)
