The New York Jets could become a playoff team if Derek Carr starts for them
The New York Jets find themselves in an interesting spot, but forever stuck on the runway in arrested development. The Zach Wilson draft hype was out of control. It got up there with FakeBlock. “Watch out for hop-ons!” they said about BYU gunslinger’s hype train. Like Mary Matthews once said in Miami about Green Bay fling Brett Favre. “I mean, he’s no Steve Young!”
Like Favre in Green Bay, it wasn’t working out for Carr in Las Vegas, but it might work for us! That’s why you’re the Jets, where Just End The Season is a way of life. Not until Gary Vaynerchuk buys the team will Gang Green be a consistently strong organization. The good news is Las Vegas’ Michael Bluth is leaving his family once and for all. East Rutherford could be Carr’s new Phoenix.
There’s always money in the banana stand, but it’s been mostly monkey business with Woody Johnson owning the team. Not Texas Longhorn monkey business, but the kind of shenanigans that result in Butt Fumbles, foot fetishes and not a single playoff appearance since 2010. But you know, it just might work for the Jets! You get Carr in free agency and baby, you’ve got a stew going!
