With the help of these recruits, Deion Sanders could have Colorado football rolling in Boulder.

There may not be another head-coaching hire as seismic as Deion Sanders taking over in Colorado.

After having had great success at Jackson State, Coach Prime is going Power Five, y’all! Although the Buffaloes are arguably the worst program at this level in the country, all Sanders does is win, win, win, no matter what. Give it a few years and we may see Buffaloes football get back to what it can be under previous regimes. From Joel Klatt to the McCartneys, everyone is buzzing over this.

Here are three top-flight recruits Sanders landed in the very early stages of taking over at CU.

Colorado football: 3 Deion Sanders recruits that look good, feel good in Boulder

Adam Hopkins could quickly become a favorite target of QB Shedeur Sanders

While Colorado ended up with, I kid you not, 25 transfers in the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Buffs were able to add 19 players the traditional way by signing their national letters of intent. One such played Coach Prime was able to pick up was wide receiver Adam Hopkins out of Thomasville, Georgia. Hopkins had been committed to nearby Auburn before ultimately flipping to Colorado.

If a blue-blood program like Auburn wants a player like Hopkins, then that is the type of recruit a team like Colorado should pursue with Sanders at the helm. Colorado does not have anywhere close to the amount of good players in-state like Georgia does, but one thing the Buffs have going for them is Sanders’ son Shedeur is a former four-star who transferred over from Jackson State.

To keep pace with the deep offenses in the Pac-12, Colorado is going to have to move the sticks.
