The Auburn Tigers are coming out of an SEC gauntlet right now. They’ve lost their last three, but those games came against the top three teams in the SEC. It started with a 46-43 loss to No. 10 Tennessee, then an 83-78 loss to Texas A&M, followed by a 77-69 loss to No. 1 Alabama on Saturday. Don’t worry Tigers fans, they just have to play the fourth place team in the conference tonight, the Missouri Tigers. Both Auburn and Missouri are 7-5 in conference play.

Missouri has a bit more momentum coming in with a win over Tennessee on Saturday, 86-85. Despite that, they’re underdogs on the road tonight.

Missouri vs. Auburn prediction and pick

If you want to see the difference between these two teams and their styles just look at how they’ve both played Tennessee lately. Missouri beat them in an absolute shootout, and Auburn lost in a defense battle. Missouri scored 86 points in that win and Auburn and Tennessee combined for 89 points.

Missouri is 13th in scoring offense, 45th in possessions per game, and seventh in offensive efficiency. They’re 25th in the nation in field goal percentage and 57th in three-point shooting. They’re a flat out elite offensive team led by Kobe Brown’s 16.5 points a game. They go about nine or 10 deep on the bench which allows them to play at such a high tempo.

Auburn is 57th in scoring defense, 157th in pace, 26th in defensive efficiency. They’re 15th in opponent field goal percentage and fourth in opponent three-point shooting just 27.3%. Auburn’s great defense was no match for Alabama, another fast-paced offense-first team. Even though they held the Crimson Tide to under 30% from three, they scored 77 points and shot almost 60% from the field. The Total is at 151 points, so Vegas thinks this game will be high-scoring and if that’s the case you have to take the better offensive team as an underdog.
