Jake Paul to be ranked by The WBC?
With a win over Tommy Fury, Jake Paul will be ranked within the cruiserweight division by the WBC.
As we get closer to the return of Jake Paul inside the squared circle, plenty of news will come up involving the 26-year-old social media giant. Earlier today, the WBC wasted no time getting ahead of the fight week festivities by announcing that Paul will be placed in their cruiserweight rankings if he is victorious against Tommy Fury on Feb. 26.
The WBC had this to say in a press release sent out earlier today “Jake has dedication and respect to the sport, and The WBC will not tolerate discrimination against anyone, he deserves the opportunities that any other boxer has. He demonstrated punching power and improved skills as well as a solid chin, Tommy Fury represents a clear challenge to Paul in a battle of two undefeated professional boxers. Jake has enrolled in VADA testing Clean Boxing Program, yet another strong reason to support his stance as a boxer”.
Of course, this stirred some controversy amongst the fans of the sport as they don’t share the same feelings as the WBC. Although fans will rush to a conclusion and assume that means somewhere in the top 10, it can easily be the last fighter on the list at number 40. We will all find out what exactly being ranked means days after, but in the meantime, Paul has a fight coming up with Fury. This will be his first test against a traditional boxer if you want to call it that. Fury is best known as a reality Tv star in the U.K. than a fighter, but he is an undefeated Pro with eight fights under his belt.
Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury can be streamed live on ESPN+ PPV ($49.99)

Although Paul is a lightning rod for controversy and news, he has brilliantly created a profile that has earned him millions of dollars through different revenue streams. Although fans may feel it’s gimmicky, the truth is that it works, and the events generate money. If it didn’t, he would have already moved on to the next thing, but since it is, he will continue to put on these boxing events. Will Paul beat Fury, and if he does, where will he rank within the WBC? These next two weeks are going to be very interesting when it comes to Paul and his position within boxing.
