UFC Vegas 69: Jéssica Andrade vs. Erin Blanchfield live results [UPDATED]
After some switching up with the UFC Vegas 69 main event, Erin Blanchfield will now have perhaps the most significant opportunity of her career, as she takes on former UFC strawweight champion and flyweight title challenger Jéssica Andrade.
The original UFC Vegas 69 main event was supposed to have been Cory Sandhagen vs. Marlon “Chito” Vera until that fight was moved to the main event of next month’s UFC San Antonio card. Blanchfield was also supposed to face former flyweight title challenger Talia Santos, but Santos was forced out of the fight after her cornermen were denied U.S. visas.
Andrade, who is ranked No. 6 at strawweight and No. 3 at flyweight, just competed last month at UFC 283, scoring a unanimous decision win over Lauren Murphy.
After that fight, Andrade, who has now won three straight since falling short in a flyweight title bout with Valentina Shevchenko, called for a strawweight title rematch with the woman she originally lost the title to — Weili Zhang.
Blanchfield, the No. 10 ranked UFC women’s flyweight fighter, is 10-1 in her career and a perfect 4-0 in the UFC. Her Octagon record so far includes decisions over Sarah Alpar and Miranda Maverick, as well as submissions of JJ Aldrich and Molly McCann, the latter coming in Madison Square Garden at UFC 282.
