The 2023 LIV Golf rosters are out ahead of the first event in Mexico but the new additions to the tour are a bit lackluster after what was promised.

On the heels of the inaugural LIV Golf season, CEO Greg Norman announced that the startup league was looking to add to the high-level players it had already poached from the PGA Tour. In fact, Norman said LIV was targeting “seven new Top 20” players to join after additions like Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau and more.

Now as the 2023 season is set to commence on Friday in Mayakoba, we have the LIV Golf rosters out. And Norman didn’t add seven Top 20 players. In fact, he didn’t add one — unless you count Top 20 as meaning “you might bet these guys to finish in the Top 20 sometimes but not every time”. On top of that, the league only added six new players.

It’s hard not to be underwhelmed by the new additions to LIV and, frankly, it doesn’t bode well for the future of the league. As the PGA Tour seems to be getting stronger after its first two full-field designated events, LIV Golf is moving forward with rosters that simply don’t have any new blood to get excited about.

With that, though, let’s look at the six newcomers to LIV and then the rosters for the 2023 season that will begin in Mexico on Feb. 24.

LIV Golf rosters: Who are the new players for 2023?

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen seven PGA Tour players jump ship to LIV, none of which have moved the needle. Sure, there are former PGA Tour and DP World Tour winners, but there isn’t a player in the group of newcomers who really moves the needle in the way that the league’s early additions seemed to.

With that, here are the new members of LIV Golf for the 2023 season:

  • Dean Burmester
  • Danny Lee
  • Sebastian Munoz
  • Mito Pereira
  • Thomas Pieters
  • Brendan Steele
