3 galaxy brain trades the Bears would love to make this offseason

The Chicago Bears are one of the most intriguing teams in the NFL this offseason. They seem to be poised to make multiple star-caliber trades.
It’s an interesting position, but the Chicago Bears are one of those strange teams that have the number-one overall pick in the NFL Draft. GM Ryan Poles has to choose between Justin Fields and the choice between Bryce Young and CJ Stroud. Fields has superstar tendencies, rushing for ridiculous yardage while working on his pass game.
The Bears don’t have to look far to see a team with a star under center use the number-one overall pick on a different position. The Jacksonville Jaguars chose Travon Walker one year after taking Trevor Lawrence with the number-one pick. This season, the Jaguars won the division.
The Bears are in a position where that can happen for them. The NFC North is attainable. Minnesota is in a weird spot where the floor could come out at any time. Aaron Rodgers might be saying goodbye to Green Bay. The Lions look good, but that always seems to have an expiration date. With the right moves, the Bears can take over this division.
Those moves have to be perfect, and it will take some real guts from GM Pace. Let’s start with a surprising move to let a team move up to number one overall without the usual bevy of picks.
3. The Bears could trade the No. 1 pick to the Colts
The Chicago Bears desperately need a wide receiver to help Justin Fields drive the offense. They overpaid for Chase Claypool, and now they are stuck with him despite his lack of production. Darnell Mooney looked good last season, but then he was forced to head to IR after yet another injury.
It’s time for the Bears to move for a number-one wide receiver. Don’t go for the aging veteran like DeAndre Hopkins or spend all the money for Jakobi Meyers. The Bears need to make a move that will last. That’s why Michael Pittman makes sense. He’s been stuck on the Colts and their rotating door of aging quarterbacks for years. We know he’s good, but he’s stuck.
Is this an overpay for Pittman? The Bears drop just three spots, but the number-one overall pick has insane value. The wide receiver is coming off a bad season (925 yards, four touchdowns) Is Pittman really the best value? It might be… unless…
