Sure, the Honda Classic is no WM Phoenix Open, but you can still bet on whether or not there will be a hole-in-one.

PGA National is one of the toughest courses on the Tour’s schedule but that doesn’t mean there’s no chance of an ace.

First of all, let’s take a look at the odds for a golfer to record a hole-in-one at PGA National this week. Then, I’ll breakdown and the history and the likelihood of one being scored.

Honda Classic Hole-in-One history

Here is the history of Holes-in-One at the Honda Classic, as per the official PGA Tour Media Guide.

  • Wayne Grady – 1985
  • Bobby Watkins – 1993
  • Richie Coughlan – 2001
  • Mark Wiebe – 2001
  • Steve Flesch – 2002
  • Ben Crane – 2009
  • Charles Howell III – 2012
  • Davis Love III – 2012
  • Robert Allenby – 2013
  • Alex Cejka – 2016
  • Scott Stallings – 2017
  • Jhonattan Vegas – 2017
  • Grayson Murray – 2020
  • Matthew NeSmith – 2020

There has been 14 holes-in-one at the Honda Classic since it began in 1972, but seven of them have occurred since the tournament moved to PGA National back in 2007.

It’s also interesting to note that there have been five holes-in-one dating back to just 2016, with two occurring both in 2017 and 2020.

Look, I generally think there isn’t a ton of value on betting on the “Yes” option in whether or not there will be a hole-in-one, but this could be the event to take a shot. Everyone knows that PGA National is arguably the toughest non-major course on the Tour, but we have seen a relatively decent amount of holes-in-one over the years, especially as of late.

I’m going to take a shot and bet on “yes” here at +130.

If you want to get even more aggressive and bet on a higher payout, there are options to bet on a hole-in-one occurring in a specific round. Remember, rounds one and two will have a higher chance since more golfers will be playing in those rounds. Half the field will be cut before round three.
