Breaking down the 2023 Honda Classic tee times, the purse and prize money, the odds and how to watch the PGA Tour at PGA National this week.

Though the 2023 Honda Classic may not have the star power that the past two events have brought out, seeing players navigate and always-tough PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, with the vaunted Bear Trap, in particular, wreaking havoc, is always an entertaining tournament. And that’s where we’re headed for this week’s tournament spanning Feb. 23-26.

Sepp Straka won at the Honda last year as he and Shane Lowry were battling down the stretch and fought through a storm down the final holes on Sunday to get to the finish line. It was Straka who came out on top, though. Now he’ll be back to try and retain the trophy.

It should be a great tournament, even if we don’t have Jon Rahm, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy or many of the biggest stars in golf teeing it up this week. But let’s take a look at the 2023 Honda Classic tee times, purse, the field, the odds and how you can watch on every round of this tournament.

Honda Classic tee times, field 2023

Straka will be back in the field this week to defend his title at the Honda. Lowry, who challenged Straka down the stretch, is also returning. Along with him will be past champion Sungjae Im, installed as the favorite this week at PGA National. Former Texas Longhorns superstar and Korn Ferry Tour standout Pierceson Coody will also make his PGA Tour debut this week as a much-anticipated newcomer with all kinds of chops.

Here’s a look at the field list submitted Friday the week prior to the Honda.

Since that release, Ben Silverman, Jonas Blixt, Sung Kang, Scott Brown, Curtis Thompson, Greg Chalmers, Geoff Ogilvy, Trace Crowe, Parker Coody, Brett Drewitt and Ryan Gerard have all been added to the field of 144. Meanwhile, Sam Ryder, David Lipsky, Patrick Rodgers, Lanto Griffin and Danny Lee are no longer in the field.

As of Wednesday, there were more changes to the field as Austin Smotherman and Alex Noren withdrew. Kevin Chappell and Grayson Murray were added to the field as alternates.

Here are the Honda Classic tee times for the first two rounds (Note: Times are all EST. * denotes teeing off on No. 10).

Honda Classic purse for 2023

The purse for the 2023 Honda Classic is set at $8.4 million with the winner coming away with $1.512 million in prize money for the victory at PGA National.

That total might look a bit low after two straight designated events that had $20 million purses. However, this is a standard event on the PGA Tour and the winner will still take home life-changing money as their payout and get a great share of FedExCup points.
