LIV Golf Invitational Mayakoba: Tee times, field, purse, how to watch
LIV Golf Invitational Mayakoba kicks off the 2023 season and we’re looking at the tee times, the massive purse and prize money and how to watch and stream.
The 2023 LIV Golf season will get underway this week with the Feb. 24-26 tournament at an old PGA Tour stop, El Camaleon. LIV Golf Invitational Mayakoba will be the first event of the season as Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau and many more get ready to start the new season.
Despite some rumors of players that could jump from the PGA Tour to LIV, there were only six new additions since the end of last season, many of which aren’t at the level of the big names added last year. The newcomers are Dean Burmester, Brendan Steele, Mito Pereira, Danny Lee, Sebastian Munoz and Thomas Pieters.
Still, the 54-hole events will be back with their lucrative purses, shotgun starts and all of the things that make LIV unique. To see what the second season of the league will look like, we have you covered with everything you need to know for the LIV Golf Invitational Mayakoba event this week.
LIV Golf Invitational Mayakoba tee times, field and teams
Unlike on the PGA Tour, one of the unique aspects of LIV is that there are no tee times for the week. Instead, it’s a shotgun start, with every golfer teeing off on the same time at different holes on the course. They will tee off at 1:15 p.m. ET on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week at Mayakoba.
Here is a look at the field with the 12 teams of four players competing at El Cameleon this week with the captains for each team denoted in bold.

LIV Golf Invitational Mayakoba purse: Prize money for this week’s event
The eye-popping part about LIV when it started in 2022 was the money, not only the contracts being given players to jump from the PGA and DP World Tours, but the prize money for the events. Though the elevated events on the PGA Tour have leveled that a bit, the prize money for this league is still crazy.
For the week at Mayakoba, it is a total $25 million purse with $20 million being awarded for the individual competition and $5 million for the team competition. In the individual competition, the winner at Mayakoba will take home $4 million this week while last place still brings home $120,000.
