When is Tiger Woods playing next after Genesis Invitational?
Tiger Woods not only returned to the PGA Tour at the Genesis Invitational but made the cut. Now fans are wondering when Tiger will play next.
Golf fans were simply excited to see Tiger Woods on the golf course in a competitive setting for the first time since The Open Championship in July 2022 when he teed it up as the host of the Genesis Invitational this past week. It was his first PGA Tour start in more than two years for a non-major and a special moment.
What made it even better was Woods making the cut and getting all four rounds in.
The territory that comes with a strong showing given his age, health and rust, however, is the natural question of what’s next for Tiger. He said he planned to play all four major championships this season but left the door open to playing “a couple more” than that as well.
Subsequently, fans are wondering if we’ll see him again before The Masters and, more specifically, when Tiger Woods will play again.
When will Tiger Woods play next after the Genesis Invitational?
Obviously, one of the biggest things that the future of Woods and his schedule hinges on is how his body is holding up. His limp was far less noticeable at the Genesis than it was in his three major showings last year but he’s also been dealing with plantar fasciitis and some ankle issues as well.
With that being said, the way that Tiger spoke seemed to leave the door open to try and play once per month to stay polished for the majors. As such, the natural thought would be that Woods could play the next big event on the PGA Tour, THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass on March 9-12.
That’s not set in stone but, if Woods doesn’t tee it up at THE PLAYERS, then it figures that he won’t make another start until Augusta National Golf Club for The Masters, where he made his return in 2022.
