College Football News: C.J. Stroud had Ohio State fans DMing him on Venmo while off social media

In just over two months, C.J. Stroud is going to be a Top 10 (and likely Top 5) pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, beginning his professional career and with a franchise appointing him as the savior of the offense, whichever team that might end up being.

For now, though, the Ohio State star and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist is recounting some of his craziest moments in Columbus. And one of them involves the wild Buckeyes fans going to extreme lengths.

College football players getting hounded and harassed on social media to “play better” or some more unkind terms is nothing new. But with Stroud on a social media hiatus during the season, Ohio State fans had to go to great lengths to do so with their quarterback this past season. Namely, they found Stroud on Venmo and messaged him there with their “coaching”.

If there’s one piece of advice I can give, it’s don’t do this. Frankly, going after or trying to coach up players on social media is silly in its own right. Hunting down a player on Venmo because they aren’t on social media is a different level of unacceptable though.
