1 trade the Baltimore Orioles want to take back: Curt Schilling

Curt Schilling is a player that may find his name on this list more than once. While not in the Hall of Fame, Schilling put up Hall of Fame numbers throughout his career, and may yet be on his way to Cooperstown. But we’ll let the Veteran’s Committee handle that.

Schilling actually began his career with the Boston Red Sox. Schilling was a second-round pick who was later traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 1988. But, that wasn’t Schilling’s last stop. In fact, Schilling would actually be part of five different organizations throughout his major league career.

Schilling along with Steve Finley and Pete Harnisch was traded to the Houston Astros Glenn Davis in the winter of 1991. Davis would never return to the All-Star level performance that he put forward with the Astros in 1986 and 1989.

Schilling, however, would go on to be a six-time All-Star, a three-time World Series Champion, and took home World Series MVP honors while part of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 2001 championship run. For his career, Schilling owns 3,116 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.46. The O’s sure could have used that.
