Mina Kimes scrambles to save Bryce Young’s draft stock after previous viral photo
By Scott Rogust
ESPN analyst Mina Kimes was at the NFL Scouting Combine and once again attempted to save Alabama quarterback Bryce Young’s draft stock over a viral photo.
The NFL Scouting Combine has arrived, and the quarterbacks will dominate the conversations throughout the week. With signal callers set to participate in drills on Saturday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. ET., Alabama’s Bryce Young will not be among them. He is considered to be the top prospect at the position, but his height will be much-debated. Although he can make incredible throws and extend plays with his legs, he stands at 6-feet tall, but could be shorter when getting officially measured at the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
Prior to the NFL Combine, Young’s height came under fire when a photo of the Alabama signal caller and ESPN analyst Mina Kimes went viral. Specifically, the photo showed that Young and Kimes were near equal height. Kimes did some damage control afterward, saying that she is nearly 5-foot-7 and wore four-inch heels at the time of the photo.
Kimes was in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine for ESPN on Thursday, and she continued to help salvage Young’s draft stock, standing next to a cutout of the quarterback, which she said was “life size.”

Even with this attempt to prove that Young is taller than Kimes, some Twitter users had some fun in the replies.

During his two years as a starting quarterback in the SEC, Young won the Heisman Trophy in 2021 and took them to the College Football Playoff National Championship that same year. He has the second most passing yards and passing touchdowns in Alabama history with 8,356 and 80, respectively.
Even though Young has shown he can make the throws and can move well in the pocket, his height and weight will be a topic of discussion throughout the pre-draft process. However, as theScore’s Jordan Schultz reports, Young was “sensational” in draft meetings.
With the first-round of the NFL Draft taking place on Apr. 27, there is still plenty of time for the draft rankings to shift. Remember, all it takes is for one team to become enamored with Young to find a way to select him, whether that’s waiting at their current spot, or moving up the board to select him.
