Everyone has their own ideas on how to fix the NBA but nobody knows better than retired stars Paul Pierce, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

The NBA has enjoyed a stranglehold on professional basketball in the United States for more than seven decades. Its impact doesn’t appear to be waning but constant hand-wringing over dull regular-season games, stale offenses and questionable officiating means there are plenty of opportunities for improving the product.

Recently Paul Pierce, Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes spoke with FanSided’s Sean Daley about a number of topics, including ideas the NBA could adapt from the BIG3, a professional 3-on-3 league featuring numerous retired NBA players.

Is the NBA really ready to embrace the chaos of the 4-point shot?

“The 4-Point Shot. All those guys are shooting from halfcourt now. They going to do it and when they do, they better give Ice Cube his props,” said Jackson. “Because the 4-point shot has changed a lot of games in the Big3.”

Ice Cube was one of the founders of the league and Jackson has both played and coached. You can watch the full interview below, covering a lot more, including load management, Paul Pierce’s memories of the NBA 75th Anniversary team and more.

Paul Pierce, Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes are partnering with Buffalo Wild Wings for Bnb-Dubs, where one lucky fan and guest can win an all-inclusive stay during the First Round of March Madness on March 16-17. Located inside a Buffalo Wild Wings in Houston, Texas, BnB-Dubs is a pop-up space that will impress even the biggest of basketball fans.
