You most need to know about the drivers of every F1 team and the team principals. Who are they for 2023?
2023 has brought plenty of changes to the paddock in Formula 1, with drivers shifting teams and leaving the sport, as well as team principals shifting teams, too.
Here’s a look at the important faces for the new season.

Here is a look at all the drivers in 2023. Some notable faces from 2022 are missing in the starting lineup this year.

F1 team principals 2023
Here are all the team principals in 2023.
Red Bull Racing team principal: Christian Horner
Christian Horner has been the team principal with Red Bull since 2005.
Ferrari team principal: Fred Vasseur
Fred Vasseur took over as team principal starting in 2023.
Mercedes team principal: Toto Wolff
Toto Wolff has been the team principal since 2013, and owns a 33% stake in the team.
Alpine team principal: Otmar Szafnauer
Otmar Szafnauer is Alpine’s team principal since 2022. He previously was with Force India, which later was bought and became Aston Martin. On the most recent season of Drive to Survive he described the working environment at Aston Martin as intense and business-like, and said it took the fun out of racing.
Previously, he worked for Ford and founded Soft Pauer, which released an official Formula One timing app on iPhone.
Aston Martin team principal: Mike Krack
Mike Krack joined Aston Martin after Szafnauer left the team for Alpine.
Alfa Romeo team principal: Three-headed dragon
Alfa Romeo does not have a single team principal. Instead, they have three people taking on various responsibilities of the role: Andreas Seidl, Xevi Pujolar, and Beat Zehnder.
Seidl explained the distribution of duties to Formula1.com:
"“I will be team representative, meaning that I will work together with Xevi Pujolar, our head of track engineering, together with Beat Zehnder, the sporting director – but I will have different functions from them."
McLaren team principal: Andrea Stella
Andrea Stella has been with McLaren since 2015 and stepped into a team principal role this season.
Zak Brown generally does most of the team’s press-facing interaction, though. Brown is the team’s CEO.
Haas team principal: Guenther Steiner
Guenther Steiner has been the principal at F1 since the team’s inception in 2014, playing a pivotal role in the team’s birth including staff building and manufacturing development and partnerships.
AlphaTauri team principal: Franz Tost
Franz Tost has been with the team since 2005 when it was called Scuderia Toro Rosso.
Williams team principal: James Vowles
James Vowles is the principal at Williams, appointed in early 2023.
