Tom Brady wishes good luck to Jon Jones in a social media message prior to UFC 285

Arguably considered the greatest of all time ever to step foot inside the Octagon, Jon Jones marks his return to the UFC tonight as he and Ciryl Gane battle for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 285.

Before stepping into the cage, however, Jones received a message of support from a different GOAT — one who just finished his career, Tom Brady.

“Hey John, I want to say welcome back to the main stage,” Brady said in a message posted to Instagram. “It’s great to see the GOAT doing what he does best and doing what he’s meant to do. So I thought seven titles was a lot. You doubled it, man!

“And I know tonight’s not going to be easy. Cyril Gane’s standing on the other side of that Octagon. He’s a bad man. It’s gotta be an incredible fight. Dana knows how to put on a great show as always, and I wouldn’t this was one for the world. I’m gonna be there watching, good luck to both you guys, tonight. And John, congrats on an amazing career of greatness. Let’s f***ing go!”

Tom Brady wishes Jon Jones good luck ahead of UFC 285: ‘It’s great to see the GOAT’

UFC 285 will mark Jones’s first appearance in the UFC since defeating Dominick Reyes to retain the UFC light heavyweight championship at UFC 247 — three years ago.

After dominating the light heavyweight scene throughout the 2010s, Jones will look to be one of just a handful of fighters to win UFC gold in two weight classes as he makes his long-awaited jump up to heavyweight.

Brady recently announced his retirement from the NFL after 23 seasons — where he was a key contributor to the New England Patriots dynasty in his 20 years there before spending his final three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He leaves the on-field game with seven Super Bowls (with five Super Bowl MVPs), 3 NFL MVPs and many other awards.
