NFL mock draft: Kansas City Chiefs giftwrap Andrei Iosivas to Mahomes

For Andrei Iosivas, it would be a dream come true to get drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. Just look at Skyy Moore, who won a Super Bowl in his first season with the team.

The Chiefs will likely yet again address the wide receiver position in the mid to late rounds of the 2023 Draft, and Iosivas will be sitting there waiting. The Princeton Tiger’s speed and ball skills would pair with any receiver in the Chiefs’ current pass-catching corps, and he should help keep Kansas City’s offense as potent as ever in the post-Tyreek Hill era.

Each of the Chiefs’ wideouts — Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore and others — all made their own unique indents in the passing game in 2022, a testament to Andy Reid’s brilliance and Patrick Mahomes’ growth. The Tyreek Hill trade forced the Chiefs’ offense to become more complex with Mahomes eschewing his usual downfield shots to Hill for a more varied bag of tricks in the middle of the field.

To keep their offensive model sustainable, the Chiefs will need to continue drafting young talent capable of working in those short-yardage situations, and Andrei Iosivas can turn into a bona fide YAC beast, running circles around unsuspecting defenses.

After their Super Bowl LVII victory, no one is doubting the Chiefs’ offense now, and opposing defensive coordinators should be better prepared to handle Kansas City’s scrappy but effective receiving unit come 2023.

The Chiefs have long prioritized speed at the wideout position, and Iosivas is the very definition of it. Super Bowl LVIII, here we come.
