Freddie Freeman and Canada ripped for brutal WBC uniforms

Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman was the model for Canada’s World Baseball Classic uniforms, and they weren’t ideal.

Baseball uniforms are often a hot topic for MLB teams, let alone an entire nation. While Canada isn’t expected to make a ton of noise at the World Baseball Classic, they’re led by one of the best players in the game — Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman.

Freeman playing in the tournament is inspirational enough for his nation. Unfortunately, they made him look like he was back in high school with some uniforms inspired by…what, exactly?

To be fair, none of the WBC uniforms are all that great. Canada’s sticks out because it’s bright red, and the lettering doesn’t scream ‘we’re winning this tournament’.

Let’s just say that social media users had some thoughts about the jerseys that members of Team Canada will be wearing in the WBC.

Canada is in Pool C of the WBC, where they will be competing against the United States, Mexico, Colombia, and Great Britain. The first round for Group C officially begins on Saturday, March 11 and concludes on Wednesday, March 15, and will take place in Phoenix, Ariz. The two teams with the highest winning percentages will advance to the quarterfinals. The Pool C winner will face the Pool D runner-up, while the Pool C runner-up faces the Pool D winner.
