When does the NBA Regular Season end?

The NBA Play-In Tournament, NBA Playoffs and offseason are looming. When does the NBA regular season end and the postseason begin?
The NBA is a year-round sport these days — a nine-month calendar of regular-season and playoffs extended by the NBA Draft, offseason shenanigans, Summer League and more. The next phase is approaching with a pivot to the postseason.
When does the NBA regular season end?
The 2022-23 NBA regular season ends on Sunday, Apr. 9 with a 15-game slate and all 30 teams in action. Considering how tight the playoff races are right now, there’s a good chance some playoff positioning could be decided that day.
When does the NBA Play-In Tournament start?
The NBA Play-In Tournament begins on Apr. 11 and will conclude on Apr. 14. During those days, the No. 7 seed will play the No. 8 seed, and the No. 9 seed will play the No. 10 seed in each conference. The winner of the No. 7 and No. 8 game will be locked into the No. 7 seed for the playoffs. The loser will play the winner of the No. 9 and No. 10 game, with the winner of that game locked into the No. 8 seed.
When do the NBA playoffs start?
The NBA playoffs will begin on Saturday, Apr. 15. The Conference Semifinals are scheduled to begin May 1 and 2. The Conference Finals are scheduled to begin on May 16 and 17. In each case, they could be moved up if the previous rounds finish early. Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be played on June 1 with Game 7 on June 18, if necessary.
When are NBA Awards announced?
The NBA Awards — MVP, Coach of the Year, Executive of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year — don’t have publicly set dates to be announced. However, they are usually announced on a rolling basis throughout the playoffs with MVP usually coming last.
