2. Dakota Hudson is on the Cardinals trade block

There is hope for Hudson. He has sped up his game with the new pitch clock trimming down his time between pitches. And then, new pitching coach Dusty Blake helping him to put together what he was feeling on the mound with the analytics to complete his pitches more efficiently.

Hudson has the tools to help him have a better season. While he may want to be a starter, the rotation seems set with other arms, and Hudson may find more success going a shorter amount of time through the bullpen.

In a rotation with many questions, Hudson putting it together could lead him to find a better opportunity in the rotation that goes into future seasons. Hudson would compete with Andre Pallante, Matthew Libertatore, Gordon Graceffo, and others.

While this seems promising, Hudson must step up and do his part. If he doesn’t, the Cardinals may be forced to place him on the trade block for him to get a fresh perspective elsewhere,
