Projected WWE WrestleMania 39 match card after March 10 SmackDown
By Scott Rogust
There were three matches added to the WrestleMania 39 card on the March 6 episode of Raw. Were any more bouts added on the March 10 edition of SmackDown?
WrestleMania 39, WWE’s huge two-night premium live event, takes place on Saturday, Apr. 1 and Sunday, Apr. 2, live from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. That’s right, we are less than a month away from the “showcase of the immortals,” which means more and more matches will be added to the card.
This past Monday on Raw, there were three matches added to the card — Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul, Austin Theory vs. John Cena for the United States Championship, and Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus vs. Damage CTRL.
Were any more matches confirmed for WrestleMania 39 on the March 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown?

Expected WWE WrestleMania 39 match card additions
Let’s take a look at the matches we can expect to be added to the WrestleMania 39 card, based off of what happened on the March 10 edition of SmackDown.
- Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre
- Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio
- Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships: The Uso’s (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) (c) vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens
There was a fatal-five way match to start off SmackDown to determine who would challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39. Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, L.A. Knight, Karrion Kross, and Xavier Woods took part in an competitive match. At the conclusion, both Sheamus and McIntyre secured pins at the exact same time, creating confusion as to who would face Gunther. Later on in the show, it was announced that McIntyre and Sheamus will face off one-on-one to determine a sole challenger for the Intercontinental Championship.
On SmackDown, WWE announced that Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee into their 2023 Hall of Fame class. As Rey attempted to give a speech in the ring, he was interrupted by his 25-year-old son, Dominik, who was flanked by the Judgment Day. Dominik lambasted his father, until he was interrupted by Legado Del Fantasma, leading into the six-man tag team match.
The Judgment Day were victorious after a distraction allowed Dominik to pick up the pinfall. Afterwards, Dominik ridiculed his father even more, who refused to strike him. As Dominik went to attack, Rey moved out of the way, sending him out of the ring.
It’s only a matter of time until Rey vs. Dominik is announced for WrestleMania.
In the main event segment, Jey Uso explained his decision to attack Sami Zayn this past Monday on Raw. Jey said that he wanted to help his brother, Jimmy, which is why he decided to remain with the Bloodline. After all, Roman Reigns said on the previous episode of SmackDown that if Jey didn’t come back to the Bloodline, he would take the blame off Zayn for fracturing the faction and instead place it onto Jimmy.
The duo called out Cody Rhodes, Reigns’ challenger for the Undisputed WWE Universal championship at WrestleMania. Rhodes walked down the ramp to fight the Uso’s, and Zayn entered through the crowd to attack Jey. That led to a brawl between the four wrestlers outside of the ring and even in the crowd.
With three weeks to go, we will see Kevin Owens join Zayn in his fight against the Uso’s, leading to an Undisputed WWE Tag Team championship match at WrestleMania.
