USA Olympian defends Tyreek Hill from ridiculous criticism over 60-meter championship run

Olympic track and field athlete Devon Allen came to the defense of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill after his 60-meter race win.

The 2023 league year officially opens up on Wednesday, March 15, when all 32 teams will look to improve their rosters in hopes that it will lead to a Super Bowl 58 victory.

While executives and coaches are scouting talent in the league and the draft, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was participating in a track and field competition. Specifically, in a 60-meter race.

On Saturday, Hill took part in the USA Track and Field Masters Indoor Championships in Louisville, Kent., and won the 60-meter race in 6.70 seconds. When you look at the USA Track and Field’s official Twitter account, Hill won decisively against his competition.

Yet, he was still subject to trolling on social media.

Olympic track and field athlete and former Oregon Ducks wide receiver and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Devon Allen came to the defense of Hill, saying that he ran a good time after competing in a full season. Allen then called out the critics, saying “and people are trying to roast him,” complete with an upside-down smiling emoji.

Hill did respond to the criticism on Twitter, tweeting out, “never racing again had me out there looking wild.”

Hill fell short of the world record set by Christian Coleman in 2018, who completed the 60-meter race in 6.34-seconds.

Hill just completed his first season with the Dolphins, after spending the first six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was traded to the AFC East team after contract negotiations fell through with the Chiefs, and he was rewarded with a four-year, $120 million contract extension. Hill provided a much-needed spark to Miami’s offense, and in turn, created one of the most dynamic wide receiver duos in the NFL alongside Jaylen Waddle.

In 17 regular-season games, Hill caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns on 170 targets.

We shall see if Hill will ever run in another track and field competition. What we do know is that he will run past defenders in the 2023 season.
