The New York Jets are looking at adding Allen Lazard to maybe get Aaron Rodgers to come.

The New York Jets are doing everything in their power to get Aaron Rodgers to want to be traded.

While there is some notion he will inevitably go Brett Favre on us and agree to play for Gang Green, the Jets are looking at thinking about maybe signing veteran wide receiver Allen Lazard, who has been one of Rodgers’ go-to targets with the Green Bay Packers for the last few years. New York also hired former Denver Broncos coaching disaster Nathaniel Hackett to entice him.

You have to admire the Jets’ go-for-broke approach here to landing Rodgers, but it is desperate.

Ask yourself this one question: Why did the Broncos even hire Hackett to begin with last season?

NFL rumors: New York Jets are looking to add Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard

Gang Green allowed the most popular man in the building leave for a division rival, as Mike White is coming home and taking his talents to South Beach in his free agency. The Jets still have the most unrelatable quarterback in the NFL not named Carson Wentz in fellow No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. Simply, Joe Douglas needs to make this deal happen or there will be hell to pay, I tell you!

The Jets have incredibly passionate fans. Too bad ownership has put them through the ringer more times than you have digits on your body. It has kind of become Stockholm Syndrome for them, but god bless their hearts. And even though most of them are New York Mets fans and don’t deserve happiness to begin with, there are the Adam Sandlers of the world, and we all love The Sandman.

So when a 30-something Jughead vomits on the floor of your flat after the Jets put you through another Kangaroo Song extravaganza, I will so not be there for you. However, against all odds, you do have a team that is low-key stacked and ready to compete for a rare playoff berth. As we enjoy our cups of joe in the morning, just remember one thing. Coffee is and always will be for closers.

Let’s just hope for the collective sanity of Gang Green that signing Lazard gets Rodgers to the Jets.
