NFL Rumors: Chiefs Thornhill replacement, Odell Beckham Jr. clarifies demands, Titans cutting All-Pro
The Chiefs replacing Juan Thornhill, Odell Beckham Jr. clearing up his price, and the Titans possibly making a huge cut headline the big NFL rumors.
Yes, much of the news cycle throughout the NFL and the NFL rumors mill centers around Lamar Jackson and Aaron Rodgers. Yes, we know it’s tiresome. But until something actually happens with either quarterback, both former MVPs in their own right, every move from both is going to be put under the microscope.
The good news is that there is still plenty more happening around the league, whether it’s the Chiefs replacing their key losses, the Titans potentially cutting a two-time All-Pro, or even Odell Beckham Jr. giving a key update on his free agency.

NFL Rumors: Titans could cut two-time All-Pro S Kevin Byard
Since Ran Carthon took over as the Titans general manager following the firing of Jon Robinson, he’s been cleaning house. Taylor Lewan and Robert Woods were two of the biggest names to get the axe this offseason and there have been rumors swirling about the possibility of moving on from star running back Derrick Henry as well.
Now we can add another former All-Pro to that list potentially: Safety Kevin Byard.
ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Friday that the Titans went to Byard about a pay cut. The safety balked at that idea, believing that his performance doesn’t warrant that. Now, the two parties could be at an impasse.
The Titans approached Kevin Byard about a pay cut, but the Pro Bowl safety does not believe his play warrants a decrease in salary.

Byard has wanted to play for one organization and ultimately retire as a Titan, but the two sides are at a crossroads, per sources.
Titans insider Turron Davenport added to this, noting that Byard has not requested his release from Tennessee, despite the current situation.
Even if he hasn’t requested it, though, there is a real chance that the Titans could cut or, perhaps more likely, try to trade Byard this offseason. It’s clear that Carthon and the new front office are looking to reshape this roster dramatically starting this offseason and, if they don’t believe in paying a safety the money that Byard is getting, despite his high-level play, then a move could very well still be made.
