Breaking down the LIV Golf Tucson payout distribution for the 2023 event in Arizona, the second tournament of the year for the breakout golf series.

LIV Golf Tucson took to The Gallery Golf Club this week in Arizona for the second event in the 2023 season for the series. Coming into Sunday, it was Australian Marc Leishman with the lead but a host of challenges were behind him trying to get the most they could from the $20 million purse hanging in the balance this week.

Leishman’s lead quickly evaporated on Sunday through his own fault as bogeys were coming quick and there weren’t enough birdies or better to offset them. Meanwhile, Louis Oosthuizen, Charles Howell III and Carlos Ortiz, among others, made their charges up the leaderboard to try and take home the victory and a whopping $4 million in prize money.

So let’s take a look at the LIV Golf Tucson payout for this week and see how much money is truly on the line for these players in Arizona.

LIV Golf Tucson payout by player, finishing position

  1. $4 million
  2. $2.125 million
  3. $1.5 million
  4. $1.05 million
  5. $975,000
  6. $800,000
  7. $675,000
  8. $625,000
  9. $580,000
  10. $560,000
  11. $540,000

  16. $240,000
  17. $232,000
  18. $226,000
  19. $220,000
  20. $200,000
  21. $180,000
  22. $172,000
  23. $170,000
  24. $168,000
  25. $166,000
  26. $164,000
  27. $162,000

  35. $146,000
  36. $144,000
  37. $142,000
  38. $140,000
  39. $138,000
  40. $136,000
  41. $134,000
  42. $132,000
  43. $130,000
  44. $128,000
  45. $126,000
  46. $124,000
  47. $122,000
  48. $120,000

Even though the series has been around for a year or so at this point, it’s never not shocking to see the amount of money that’s available to these players. Finishing dead last in the 48-player field still nets a six-figure payday of $120,000 — which is truly crazy.

Meanwhile, the $4 million to the winner is basically half of the entire purse at this week’s Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour, which is obviously not one of the new designated events. That’s just crazy in terms of the payday these guys get every time they tee it up for LIV Golf.

LIV Golf Tucson payout: Team purse and distribution of prize money

There is a $5 million purse for the team portion of every LIV event. That prize money is split among the top three teams in the tournament. Here’s how that money breaks down.

  1. $3 million
  2. $1.5 million
  3. $500,000

Whenever a team cashes in with these winnings, the total is split among the four members of each team, not each player getting the noted amount of money for the victory.
