March Madness: Biggest winners and losers of the 2023 NCAA Tournament

Princeton: Winners

The trend started with Florida Gulf Coast in 2013, but fans of college basketball better start taking notice, because a No. 15 seed has advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament for three consecutive years.

In 2021, it was Oral Roberts. Last season, Saint Peter’s made a run. This year, brackets have been busted courtesy of the Princeton Tigers. The Ivy League school took out No. 2 seed Arizona on Thursday and then upended Missouri on Saturday night.

The Tigers have the ability to play up-tempo as they did in their victory over Mizzou or to slow the game down as they showed against the Wildcats in the round of 64. Princeton now has a chance to advance to the Elite Eight as they go toe-to-toe with No. 6 seed Creighton on Friday night.

Will Princeton’s Cinderella run end when they go up against the Blue Jays? Statistically speaking, the two squads are pretty evenly matched. Saint Peter’s did the unthinkable by advancing to the Elite 8 last year. Could Princeton do one better and make it to the Final Four?
