When is the NFL Draft in 2023?

The 2023 NFL Draft is one of the most high-profile events of the NFL offseason. With the NFL combine now complete, we are only a few short weeks away from the draft.
There is no time more exciting than the NFL Draft for football fans. Yes, free agency can be a blast, but when teams have the chance to change the future of the franchise with a draft pick, it’s a great time to be a fan.
Over the years and especially recently, the NFL Draft has become a must-watch event and a true spectacle. There are hours upon hours of coverage of the event as college stars get to live out their professional dreams while teams and fans get excited about the future.
So when is the 2023 NFL Draft and what should you know going into it? We have you covered with all of the details you need.
When is the 2023 NFL Draft?
The 2023 NFL Draft will take place from April 27-29, 2023 as the seven rounds will be completed over three days. The first round will happen on its own primetime event, the second and third rounds will take place on the next night, also in primetime, while the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds will conclude the event with an afternoon time slot.
Here’s a look at the full schedule for the draft:
- Round 1: Thursday, April 27, 8 p.m. ET
- Rounds 2-3: Friday, April 28, 7 p.m. ET
- Rounds 4-7: Saturday, April 29, Noon ET
Where can I watch the 2023 NFL Draft?
This year’s draft will be aired on ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network with different broadcasters and analysts on each network to allow fans to pick the flavor of coverage that they consume. Fans will also be able to stream the action through FuboTV and ESPN+ through valid subscriptions to the services.
Where will the 2023 NFL Draft take place?
This year’s NFL Draft will take place near Union Station and the National World War I Memorial and Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. Last year’s iteration of the draft was held in Las Vegas and the 2024 draft will be held in Detroit as the event is now changing venues annually.
2023 NFL Draft: Who is expected to be selected first overall?
In early March, the Carolina Panthers traded with the Chicago Bears to acquire the first overall pick in the draft. It is anticipated they will use their pick to select the team’s next franchise quarterback hopeful, but there is still some speculation as to which top quarterback prospect will be selected: C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, or Anthony Richardson.
