The latest batch of NFL rumors features an Aaron Rodgers trade deadline date, why the Los Angeles Rams traded Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins and Frank Reich on short dudes.
A healthy helping of NFL rumors have arrived on the Monday after St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
We are about a week into NFL free agency and a little over a month out from the 2023 NFL Draft. Exciting times, I tell ya… Well, anywho, you made a choice to click on this article and I am going to be a good sport about it and give you all the details you need to know to the best of my Buhler abilities on all things Aaron Rodgers, Jalen Ramsey and Frank Reich’s short quarterback thoughts.
So without further ado, boy, do I have some NFL rumors for you to enjoy on this fine Monday!
NFL rumors: Frank Reich gives massive hint with No. 1 pick
With so much being made about new Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich’s affinity for taller quarterbacks, it is almost like we can safely cross off Alabama’s Bryce Young from going No. 1 to Charlotte because he is under 6-foot-3 and isn’t a real person in the eyes of Reich. Well, that may not be entirely true. See, he did have a high grade on Russell Wilson back in the day, supposedly.
It may have been a leading question, but his Carolina general manager Scott Fitterer was part of the Seattle Seahawks regime who drafted Wilson out of Wisconsin over a decade ago. Fitterer pointed out that little Wilson was able to throw the rock behind the beefiest of boys Wisconsin could ever hope to provide just fine. So is there a chance Young does go No. 1 overall to Carolina?
I wouldn’t count on it. It feels like Fitterer would need to do some major convincing to get Reich on board with Young as his franchise quarterback in Charlotte. Odds are, Carolina will take either C.J. Stroud out of Ohio State, or potentially maybe the next Cam Newton in Anthony Richardson out of Florida. Had Carolina stayed at No. 9, even Kentucky’s Will Levis could have been in play for them…
Overall, it does serve the Panthers to create some level of mystery at the very top of the draft board. It is kind of starting to feel like Kyle Shanahan being all about Five Guys at 3 o’clock. His San Francisco 49ers took Trey Lance over Justin Fields and Mac Jones, both of whom had have better pro careers two years in over the former North Dakota State star. It is as if they done messed up…
For now, you can clearly see Reich lying through his teeth that he is in fact okay with short dudes.
