Samurai Japan and Team USA battle on Tuesday night for the World Baseball Classic title in a game that is expected to be among the most-watched baseball matchups in television history.
After a thrilling walk-off comeback against Mexico on Monday night, Japan enters the World Baseball Classic championship game as a slight underdog to the United States, a team that cruised by Cuba on Sunday to earn a berth in the title game. With the win over Cuba, Team USA guaranteed itself a chance to defend its WBC title from 2017. Meanwhile, Japan will be seeking its third WBC championship.
What channel is the World Baseball Classic Final on?
The first pitch for the 2023 World Baseball Classic championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. (Eastern) and the game will be carried by FS1 and FOX Deportes. It can also be viewed through the FOX Sports app.
Fans can also catch a live stream of the World Baseball Classic title game through FuboTV. When new users sign up for the service, there is a seven-day free trial offered that will grant you the USA vs. Japan game for completely free after you enter your information.
If you’re looking for audio coverage of the WBC championship, the game will be carried on Sirius XM, TuneIn, MLB.com and in the MLB app.
While millions of baseball fans will tune in to see which country wins the game, those same fans are eager to see a potential matchup between a pair of Los Angeles Angels teammates as Mike Trout (USA) could bat against Shohei Ohtani (Japan). Ohtani is not scheduled to start the game but could come in in relief. However, Ohtani has said that, since he is serving as Japan’s designated hitter, it may be hard for him to find enough time to warm up in the bullpen while also carrying through with his DH duties.
With that in mind, the dream Angel vs. Angel matchup may not happen, but the game is expected to be memorable regardless.
