The Masters is arguably the biggest golf tournament in the world. When is The Masters in 2023 and what does the schedule look like?

No tournament captures the attention of the golf world quite like The Masters. The green jacket, the azaleas at Augusta National Golf Club, the history of the course and the event, the field, and so much more make the first major championship on the calendar a special week every single year.

So as the 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play arrives, we start to get a look at the players who are in line to qualify for The Masters this year. But that begs the question of when is The Masters in 2023?

If you can’t wait until the trip to Augusta, don’t worry, it’s right around the corner.

When is The Masters in 2023? Dates and schedule

The Masters will be held April 6-9 in 2023. Of course, for this event, there are far more festivities than just the tournament itself on Thursday through Sunday. So let’s take a look at the schedule for Augusta on the week.

  • Monday, April 3 – Practice Rounds
  • Tuesday, April 4 – Practice Rounds
  • Wednesday, April 5 – Par 3 Contest (12-5 p.m. ET | ESPN+, ESPN)
  • Thursday, April 6 – First Round (8:15 a.m.-7:45 p.m. ET | ESPN+, ESPN)
  • Friday, April 7 – Second Round (8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. ET | ESPN+, ESPN)
  • Saturday, April 8 – Third Round (10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. ET | ESPN+, CBS)
  • Sunday, April 9 – Final Round (10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. ET | ESPN+, CBS)

What channel is The Masters on?

The first two rounds of coverage for the tournament will be on ESPN with PGA Tour Live style coverage on ESPN+ and through Masters.com and The Masters app. The coverage on Saturday and Sunday for the final two rounds will be between ESPN+ and PGA Tour Live and then the main broadcast in the afternoon on CBS with the legendary Jim Nantz on the call once again.

Who won The Masters last year?

Last year, it was Scottie Scheffler who slipped on the Green Jacket for the first time in his career. Scheffler soared out to a lead early and then cruised to victory as he entered Sunday with a three-shot lead. Rory McIlroy made a late charge but was too far back to catch Scheffler. Both players will be in the field again for the 2023 tournament.

Is Tiger Woods playing in The Masters for 2023?

Also in 2022, we saw the triumphant return of Tiger Woods to professional golf as he played his first tournament since his horrific car crash in early 2021. He miraculously also made the cut, a feat of one of the all-time greats. Luckily, it’s not his finale at Augusta.

After playing (and making the cut) at the Genesis Invitational earlier in 2023, Woods stated that his goal was to play in all four major championships this year. As such, we should expect to see him back at The Masters unless we hear otherwise.
