NASCAR Xfinity Series: Who won the Pit Boss 250?
By Eric Treuden
NASCAR’s Xfinity Series moves on to Circuit of the Americas for the sixth race of the 2023 season. Who took home the trophy?
The first road course on the NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule is Circuit of the Americas, COTA for short, located in Austin, Texas.
This year’s running of the COTA race marks just the third time ever that the series has been at the winding road course.
AJ Allmendinger, one of the best road course racers this sport has ever known, began the race on the pole. He won the event last year and finished second the year before. Could he continue his dominance?
Notable drivers in the race include Cup Series full-timers Allmendinger, William Byron and Aric Almirola; as well as Carson Hocevar, a 20-year-old Truck Series prospect who is making his Xfinity Series debut.
NASCAR Xfinity Series: AJ Allmendinger once again dominates at a road course, wins at COTA
AJ Allmendinger completely dominated this race, winning easily. He had some competition in the final laps from William Byron, who is on the pole for tomorrow’s Cup Series race at COTA, but pulled away after Byron got loose on the final lap.
Notably, Austin Hill, who already has three wins this year, earned a DNF after running into some engine problems. This small hiccup will not play a role in his playoff eligibility as his ticket is already punched thanks to his red-hot start to the year.
