NFL rumors: The latest on DeAndre Hopkins trade; Chiefs, Patriots, and more

The Patriots are already moving away from DeAndre Hopkins toward another option
The entire DeAndre Hopkins trade rumors saga has been largely fueled by social media up until the last few days. One of those chapters involved Hopkins on Instagram Live with Dez Bryant. Another involved Patriots quarterback Mac Jones following Hopkins on social media.
That got people talking and thinking about if there was something to Hopkins-to-Patriots.
It looks like that probably won’t be coming to fruition.
Benjamin Allbright reported that the Patriots may have been a team that the Broncos considered an offer from for Jerry Jeudy.
That’s an indication the Patriots might be losing interest in Hopkins, but it seems as though the Patriots have also officially backed out of talks around Hopkins.
Jeff Howe reported in The Athletic that the Patriots inquired about Hopkins but have backed out of talks (subscription required). Howe did say that if there’s a major change in philosophy, talks could rekindle between the two sides, but that’s not expected.
