We have five games to watch and bet on in the NHL on Sunday, and I have picks for three of them.

It’s time to strap ourselves in as we enter the final few weeks of the regular season.

Let’s jump into my best bets for today.

NHL best bets today

  • Hurricanes -120 vs. Bruins
  • Canucks -170 vs. Blackhawks
  • Maple Leafs -180 vs. Predators

Hurricanes -120 vs. Bruins

I’ve been dying on the hill all NHL season that it’s not the Bruins that are the best team in the league, it’s the Carolina Hurricanes. So, if I’m going to stand by that belief, than I’d be a coward if I didn’t bet on Carolina in their big matchup today.

The Hurricanes lead the NHL in most of the advanced analytics, including CORSI%, FENWICK%, expected goals against, and high-danger scoring chances.

It also helps that the Bruins will likely opt for their backup goaltender today in Jeremy Swayman. He’s been solid this year, but he’s no Linus Ullmark.

I’ll back Carolina as a small home favorite.

Canucks -170 vs. Blackhawks

The Blackhawks have thrown in the towel on the season and while the Canucks are also out of the postseason, Vancouver has actually been playing some solid hockey as of late.

For example, the Canucks are fifth in the NHL in expected goals against over their last 10 games, while also sporting a strong shooting percentage of 11.15%, which ranks sixth in the NHL over that stretch.

Let’s fade Chicago as the Blackhawks do their best to get the No. 1 pick in the NHL Draft.

Maple Leafs -180 vs. Predators

The Maple Leafs lost a tough one on Saturday, but there are some promising signs heading into Sunday’s game against the Predators. Most notably, Auston Matthews seems to be returning to form at the right time, recording eight points in his last five games.

The Predators have struggled lately, ranking 31st in the NHL in expected goals percentage over their last 10 games. It’s the perfect spot for the Leafs to take advantage of their opponent and secure the victory.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
