Bucks vs. Pistons prediction and odds for Monday, March 27 (Back the Bucks)
By Josh Yourish
The Milwaukee Bucks had a big test on Saturday. They’re the top team in the Eastern Conference and they got a shot at the Nuggets, the No. 1 seed in the West in Denver and completely blew it. Milwaukee lost, 129-106 despite a 31 point game from Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks are still in a good spot at 53-21, but they’re now only a half game up on the Celtics for the No. 1 seed in the East. That’s the good news, but the better news is that they have the Detroit Pistons next.
Detroit is 16-58, by far the worst record in the conference and they have lost five straight. Let’s take a look at the odds for the Bucks and Pistons in Detroit tonight.
Bucks vs. Pistons odds, spread and total
Bucks vs. Pistons prediction and pick
Over this last month, the Detroit Pistons have won just a single game. In March they’re 1-11 with an abysmal -9.4 net rating. For the season, they’re allowing the 29th most points per game, 118.6 and scoring the 28th most, 110.7. Right now, they’re trotting out lineups that don’t even resemble an NBA team. They’ve decided to go all in on collecting failed big men who were picked second overall with Marvin Bagley III and James Wiseman both in their starting lineup against Toronto on Friday. They’re actually preventing their own top pick at center, Jalen Duren from starting by committing to retreads. It’s a disaster, but it’s the perfect plan to have the best shot at getting Victor Wembanyama.
The Bucks are 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 road games, so being in Detroit is no big deal for Milwaukee. I’m certain that Giannis is going to want to take out some frustration from losing to Nikola Jokic and Denver on the Pistons, so I’m going to roll with Milwaukee. While that was a bad loss, they’ve had a good month with a 9-4 record in March and a 6.1 net rating.
Against Denver, the Bucks shot 9/36 from three while the Nuggets went 15/36 and sometimes that’s all that needs to be said about a loss in the NBA. The Bucks will win big tonight.
