1. Kurt Warner

This one might be one of the weirdest of all time. Kurt Warner tried to win a job out of training camp in 1994 after playing with the University of Northern Iowa. He was up against Mark Brunell, Brett Favre, and Ty Detmer. He didn’t make it, and he eventually found himself without a team.

It would take Warner four years of fighting to get back to the National Football League. He played in the Arena Football League and NFL Europe before he was finally given a chance back in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams. He went on to have a Hall of Fame career. Even inside his career, things got hairy. He eventually signed with the New York Giants, but it looked like he couldn’t cut it.

Then, he went to the Arizona Cardinals. He was able to stave off Matt Leinart to keep the starting gig, and he eventually led the Cardinals to their first Super Bowl appearance.

It all started in Green Bay. Warner was a young gun trying to make it work. He tried the impossible, beating a future Hall of Famer, a Heisman Trophy winner, and a future superstar in the quarterback room. It’s honestly one of the most talented QB rooms in history. However, it only lasted a few weeks.
