Welcome back to baseball season, and more importantly, welcome back to betting on NRFIs and YRFIs!

If you aren’t familiar, NRFI and YRFI bets hit the sports betting world by storm last season. They are quick and easy bets that are extremely entertaining to watch. If you bet on the NRFI, you need no runs to be scored in the first inning. If you bet on the YRFI, you need at least one run to be scored in the first inning.

It’s as easy as that.

Let’s take a shot at a few NRFI/YRFI bets for MLB Opening day.

MLB Opening Day NRFI and YRFI bets

  • Blue Jays/Cardinals YRFI (+105)
  • Twins/Royals YRFI (-105)
  • White Sox/Astros NRFI (-150)

Blue Jays/Cardinals YRFI (+105)

The St. Louis Cardinals were one of the best teams in Major League Baseball last season when it came to scoring runs in the first inning. In fact, they ranked second in MLB in first inning runs per game, averaging 0.65.

That, paired with the Blue Jays potent offense, is enough for me to want to back to YRFI in their Opening Day showdown.

Twins/Royals YRFI (-105)

The Minnesota Twins were another team that offensively dominated in the first inning. They ranked third in the Majors last season in first inning runs per game, also averaging 0.65.

It’s also worth noting that Pablo Lopez gets the start for Minnesota today, and he struggled in the first inning last season. He sported an ERA of 4.78 in the opening inning in 2022, and if that keeps up, it’s going to help the Royals get on the board and cash our YRFI bet for us.

White Sox/Astros NRFI (-150)

The White Sox struggled to score runs in the first inning last season, ranking 24th in the Majors in first inning runs per game, averaging only 0.43. It also helps that they have the runner up for the 2022 AL Cy Young award, Dylan Cease, taking the mound for them.

I think we’ll get through the first inning unscathed in this American League showdown.
