The Warriors head to Ball Arena to face the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.

The Nuggets held out two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic the last two games with a calf injury, and he is questionable to back in the lineup on Sunday in a potential postseason preview against the Warriors.

Golden State is jockeying for position to stay out of the Play-In game, they are currently a game ahead of the Pelicans for the No. 7 seed, can they notch a road victory on Sunday night despite that being a struggle over the course of the season?

Warriors vs. Nuggets prediction and pick

We’ll see if Jokic is back in the lineup as he deals with “right calf tightness” but I’m still going to side with the Nuggets at home, where the team has been the second best team in basketball by record.

Denver is 32-7 at home this season, and get to match up with the Warriors, who are the worst road team in basketball to be currently slated to make the postseason. Golden State is a putrid 9-29 on the road this season.

The Warriors offense continues to be elite, the team has a top five effective field goal percentage at over 60% over the last month, but the team has the highest turnover percentage in the league in that time as well (tied with the Pistons). Against a Nuggets team that will hopefully have its MVP back in the lineup and is far too potent on offense to waste possessions, I can’t trust the Warriors on the road .

This game is being lined as a tightly contested affair, and while Golden State got the better of the Denver in the postseason last season, this is a regular season meeting between two teams and it’s hard to look past the home/road splits of both teams and not take the Nuggets as a small favorite. Keep an eye on Jokic’s status, but this is Denver or nothign for me.
