1. Andre Rison

This one is so bad, it’s been blamed for the Browns moving from Cleveland to Baltimore. While that seems like an easy out for a franchise that turned its back on a city, one bad signing can’t do a team in like this. The Browns signed Andre Rison after a few star-studded seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. The rest, as they say, is history.

Rison failed to do anything in Cleveland. After coming off a season where they made the playoffs and signed one of the top free agents, the Browns fell apart. They went from 11 wins to five wins. Rison went from three-straight 1,000-yard seasons to 700 yards in his one season in Cleveland. The Browns spent a ton of money to bring in Rison, and the loans they took out to sign him to his deal led to a drastic move by ownership.

This led to Rison being cut before even making it to Baltimore. He went on to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he feuded with quarterback Mark Brunell and didn’t even make it one full season. It turned out to be the right move because he signed with the Packers in the middle of the season and won a Super Bowl. He played for the Chiefs and the Raiders before retiring.

Still, his legacy is his blip with the Browns. His terrible contract gave ownership an easy out to move the team. Now, seeing him in a Browns uniform only brings back bad memories.
