We have only six games to watch and bet on across Major League Baseball today with a handful of games already postponed due to poor weather in the forecast.

But, that doesn’t mean we hold back from a betting perspective.

I have three prop bets locked in for today’s slate, let’s jump into them.

MLB prop bets for April 6th

  • Lance Lynn OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-115)
  • Merrill Kelly OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-115)
  • Austin Riley Home Run (+375)

Lance Lynn OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-115)

The Giants have been striking out all over the place through the first week of the MLB season, ranking 29th in strikeout rate (31.7%).

Lynn recorded six strikeouts in his first start of the year against the Houston Astros, a team that has historically ranked near the top of the Majors in strikeout rate. If he can put on a similar performance today, he can reach 7 Ks against the lowly Giants.

Merrill Kelly OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-115)

Believe it or not, the Los Angeles Dodgers have also been a team that has struggled when it comes to strikeouts. They have struck out on 25.8% of plate appearances, which ranks 24th in the Majors.

Now, they’ll face Merrill Kelly who managed to record four strikeouts in just 3.2 innings pitched in his season debut against this very same Dodgers team. If he can stay in the game just a little bit longer, I see no reason why he can’t surpass 4.5 strikeouts this time around.

Austin Riley Home Run (+375)

For my long shot prop bet of the day, I’m going to take Austin Riley to hit a home run against the San Diego Padres.

It’s important to note that Blake Snell gets the start for the Padres tonight, and Riley has historically done much better against left-handed pitchers throughout his career. In fact, his slugging percentage goes up from .489 against righties to .570 against lefties.

He’s worth a sprinkle to hit a dinger tonight.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
