Braves legend looks completely washed at home opener
By Scott Rogust
During the Atlanta Braves’ home opener against the San Diego Padres on Thursday, a legend at Truist Park didn’t exactly have the best night.
The Atlanta Braves started off their 2023 season on the road, where they won five of their first six games against the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals. On Thursday, Braves fans officially got to enjoy their first home game of the year at Truist Park, as they hosted the San Diego Padres.
During the game, a Braves legend got off to the worst start to the year as possible. We’re not talking about a player. Rather, we’re talking about “The Freeze.”
At home games in Atlanta, fans have the chance to race “The Freeze,” and are given a rather substantial head-start. That usually isn’t enough to for the fan, as they get defeated rather easily. There are also moments in which the fan gets a win.
But on Thursday night, one fan was able to capitalize on what was a weak start by “The Freeze.” And we mean, he slipped just when he started running.
‘The Freeze’ has worst start possible to Braves season
Let’s take a look at some of the reactions to “The Freeze’s” loss that were posted on Twitter.

Well, it is the first home game of the season for “The Freeze.” Much like the players competing in MLB, it’s best to get a good chunk of season completed before making declarations about whether “The Freeze” is finished.
Still, as evidenced by some of the tweets above, will bring up that “The Freeze” is 0-1 to start off the 2023 season. We’ll see what that very record looks like towards the end of the year.
