During the Atlanta Bravesā home opener against the San Diego Padres on Thursday, a legend at Truist Park didnāt exactly have the best night.
The Atlanta Braves started off their 2023 season on the road, where they won five of their first six games against the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals. On Thursday, Braves fans officially got to enjoy their first home game of the year at Truist Park, as they hosted the San Diego Padres.
During the game, a Braves legend got off to the worst start to the year as possible. Weāre not talking about a player. Rather, weāre talking about āThe Freeze.ā
At home games in Atlanta, fans have the chance to race āThe Freeze,ā and are given a rather substantial head-start. That usually isnāt enough to for the fan, as they get defeated rather easily. There are also moments in which the fan gets a win.
But on Thursday night, one fan was able to capitalize on what was a weak start by āThe Freeze.ā And we mean, he slipped just when he started running.

Well, it is the first home game of the season for āThe Freeze.ā Much like the players competing in MLB, itās best to get a good chunk of season completed before making declarations about whether āThe Freezeā is finished.
Still, as evidenced by some of the tweets above, will bring up that āThe Freezeā is 0-1 to start off the 2023 season. Weāll see what that very record looks like towards the end of the year.
